God, salvation, world, freedom...
You know.. time and again, I'm always surprised at the number of anti-christians out there... people who actually hate christianity with a vengence...
The main reasons I can compile can be broken down into 5 main pointers :
1) Christianity (for Christians) is deemed as an intolerant religion, becoz Christians believe that salvation can only be obtained through the belief that Jesus has cleansed your sins (John 3:16)
2) Christianity is deemed as a violent religion because of Dan Brown's interpretation of the Opus Dei and the "crusades" in the "middle ages".
3) Christianity is deemed as a narrow minded religion because Christians follow strictly by the bible, and interpretation by the Holy Spirit and nothing else.
4) Christianity is deemed as a polarizing religion because - if you dont obtain salvation, you WILL go to hell.
5) Christianity is deemed as a particularly intolerant religion, especially because of its staunch condemnation for homosexuality.
sigh.... the more I categorize, the more I realize why people actually hate Christianity...
I mean, why not? In the AJ circle, its even becoming "trendy" to be anti-christian... I mean like wtf?
sigh.. of course its easier to accept the practices of many new-age religions because of two factors that make it so appealing
i) I am a divine entity. In a human potential, I have divine potential to be a god.
ii) All religions are correct, there is no right or wrong religion, merely different practices. All religions lead to one path at the end, communal or self divinity (or enlightenment).
I mean, why not? right? Why can't humans be godlike in the first place?
Problem is, the bible states clearly that "we are born, liken in the image of God." - NOT God.
its easy to accept a religion that encompasses everything, then hold true to a religion that demands exclusivity...
I was debating with Alvin a few days ago... (he's a new-ager btw); about the Christian concept of God, and the polarization of Christianity as compared to other religions...
A) To grasp the concept of why people go to hell, is :
- God is holy (without sin)
- Nobody can approach God with sin.
- God desires that we can approach him.
- God formulates a be-all-end-all solution by erasing essential earthly blood sacrifice, with a divine blood sacrifice, by sacrificing His Son, Jesus - as prove of His love.
- That any human that believes in Jesus will live as "holy", without sin, and approachable to, and by God.
B) If you take out 3 factors, which are only justifiable to us Christians by pure faith, it shakes the entire foundation of the Christian faith.
- What if, God isn't holy? - I say this, approaching Christianity in the way of apologetics.
- What if, God, as an embodiment of love, allowed MANY ways to approach him?
- What if, God isn't a divine entity? But merely a powerful being that transcended?
this 3 factors... I can't explain, but I merely believe and trust with all my heart that what the bible writes is true.
what becomes of religion, if there is no God?
what becomes of God, if there is no word?
what becomes of the word, if it could (possibly) be corruptible?
*cries*
I am so confused... In my entire life, I'm definitely not a newbie in apologetics, but as I break down hypothetically the attributes of God, I start to wonder what am I believing in..
it boils down to one thing;
I fear death.
I'm scared shitless by it...
What is an eternity of not knowing for sure what will happen to you?
My final opinion is that Christianity is the safest religion to be with, in essence, like an insurance -
most other religions allow leeway, or self-justification, or better still, reincarnation not based on beliefs but by actions.
but Christianity is absolute.
One chance.
One life.
One God.
Believe, or die.
In truth... I'm afraid, I'd rather believe then die...
I believe in God, I believe with all my heart that He answers prayer, and I know that He loves me...
God loves me, and my life is in the palm of his hand..
Help me Lord...
My faith is shaken.... *cries*....

Let me try and help with the few questions you have:
God is holy. There is no doubt of it. If He wasn't holy, then He won't be God. Why worship someone who is not holy? Would you recognize anything less than perfect to be your God? God is an embodiment of holiness. To NOT be holy is equivalent to NOT being God.
The Bible states there is only one way to salvation. As an embodiment of love, God chose to use the one most expensive way to do so. To allow many other ways would cheapen His love by putting a different price tag on every type of way. If way 1 requires you to give every bit and aspect of your life to Him, and way 2 just requires you to meditate alone for 5 minutes everyday, it would indicate God's "biasness". It would also show that He did not put His fullest effort into doing so, making His love for us questionable.
God cannot be a powerful being that just became so, like the Buddhists believe Buddha is. The Bible states that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Any other being besides God have sinned and would thus not qualify for eternal life and true holiness, worthy of our worship.
As with regards to any possibility of the Word being corrupted, I'm sure as one who is fluent in apologetics, you would agree with me that there is nothing in the Bible that can be disproved. Over 400 prophecies have come through, with none being missed out or overlooked. The chances of this happening is an overwhelming 1 to 1,000,000,000,000. The Bible cannot be corrupted because it is God-breathe and Spirit-inspired.
Your present situation is an example of how apologetics cannot be used to secure one's faith. Our knowledge is worthless in the eyes of God, only faith is valued. The more one uses the wisdom of the world to contemplate the glory of God, the more one will be confused and bewildered.
You are also confused because right now you treat Christianity as an insurance. In so doing, you have put yourself back on the throne of your life. You worry about yourself. Where is the heart that once so desired to save the lost, to regard oneself as the last priority? With regards to your faith, the Bible states that God will give with great generosity to His children for anything that they ask, even more than a father would give his son. Therefore I would advise that you refrain from trying to stir up your own faith, but come before God and ask for Him to pour it out upon You.
One last thing: The Bible states that as a child of God, one is to avoid being unequally yoked with non-believers at all cost. I hope you understand what you must do.
I'll be praying for you. Let me know if you have any other prayer requests. Fret not,as the Word of God promised that all things will come to the good of those who love Him.
